Reached Melbourne around 730am in the morning.
First impression? The road is damn confusing. Tram lines? Hook turn? No right turn? *head spinning – confused*
GPS got so unrealiable here. *sigh* It took almost eternity for the GPS to locate the satelites and recalculate an alternative route.
Melbourne. The city where we got ‘con’ for food. From cakes at St. Kilda (the most expensive ginger breadman i ever ate), to egg tarts in Chinatown, to one blardy coral trout which cost us AUD134 in a blardy chinese restaurant in Chinatown as well.
Still got a few nice restaurants though. The Renix Ovenhouse at St. Kilda serves absolutely fantastic wood-fired pizza and pasta. I shared a mexicana pizza and a tortellini carbonara with Shyan. It was heaven. It’s good to have such a perfect meal after our soaking-wet trip from Great Ocean Road (Hail, rain, strong wind). Another restaurant which got a thumbs up from me is Hanabishi. Very refine food and the dessert Hanabishi Deluxe is definitely a must try! Gelato at Freddos! Yum yum! Koko Black (something like Max Brenner) also a great place for chocolate lovers! =) Cheese cake at Greco in Crown is a must for cheese-cake lovers!!
Visited Phillip Island, watched some cute little penguins. Went to Dandenong Ranges and got a ride on the Puffing Billing steam train. Got soaked when visiting Great Ocean Road. Went to Crown Casino, don’t really like the layout of that casino.
Overall, Melbourne is kinda nice. Some of the buildings have an old-england feel. Lots of coffee shops around. I’ll definitely go back there for Hanabishi and Koko Black and Freddos and Greko!!!!
Nyum nyum!!! All the food tasted so nice~ Will go there for more next time!
